Autumn is a beautiful time of the year. With the leaves changing to rustice tones, the darker evenings allow lights to light up the streets, leaves covering our path and the winter wardrobe starts to filter in. which is why Autumn is a lovely time to have your wedding.
Why hold an autumn wedding
The summer wedding season used to be the most popular season to get married, then came the rise of winter weddings. But recently, it has become apparent that every season has its benefits when it comes to your wedding.
Autumn is one of the most colourful and vibrant seasons, which means you can get creative with textures, colour scheme and venue.
The Venue
You have to keep temperature in mind when you are picking your venue. There are so many beautiful wedding venues in Northern Ireland, including ours but is it right for your wedding. The autumn month you choose can affect the temperature greatly, September can be quite warm as we leave summer but book your wedding at the end of October and the temperature drops!
This is where Tullyglass House Hotel has an advantage! We can cater to all temperatures with our bespoke heating system, suitable for all seasons.
There are many ways you can incorporate autumn into your wedding. Using the autumn theme you could incorporate twings, branches or leaves into your wedding. These items are great for creative certain pieces, name places or other nick nacks.
The Colour Scheme
Since autumn is a season full of many beautiful colours, using this to your advantage will allow you to create a bespoke wedding full of fresh ideas, individual to you and your partner.
Using foliage certain pieces or foliage arrangements for the bride and bridesmaids, you can have a bunch of autumnal colours together against the white of the bride and the main colour choice of the bridesmaids. Get creative with your seating arrangement, invitations or other and create the burnt feeling with the classic tea stain technique.
Other ways you can add in the autumn colour scheme into your wedding is though; bridesmaid dresses, table and chair covers, lights, hanging decorations or flowers.
Don’t forget that not all the green is gone in autumn! You can still add some darker greens into your autumn colour scheme.
Food & Beverages
We aren’t saying food and beverages is the most important aspect of your wedding day but… it is a pretty important aspect. When it comes to food you do not want to go too out there as guests have a certain expectation for wedding food and we guarantee that Tullyglass’ wedding menu will please everyone. But it is nice to add that extra seasonal aspect to your wedding and food can be the way to do that.
Here are some autumn themed snacks for you guests:
Grazing board
Seasonal fruit
Pumpkin soup
Candy apples

Drinks can be a tricky one at weddings as some guests may be picky with their drinks order. The best thing you can do is to choose drinks that align with your theme to greet your guests and at the same time arrange for the bar to open. Luckily enough there are many drinks that go along with the autumn season. Some of these include:
