Tullyglass sit down with LCN Magazine

Jun 1, 2021

The hospitality sector in Northern Ireland has gone through a lot of ups and downs this past year. Many places had to shut down including us but we did not let this get to us. At Tullyglass we used that time to better our wonderful hotel so that we would be ready for our customers’ return. Tullyglass has a constant desire to review and improve our hotel to exceed our customers expectations.

Gus McConville, the owner of Tullyglass and Odhran McLarnon, General Manager, recently did an interview with LCN Magazine. In this they discuss all things hospitality, the reopening of Tullyglass and what we got up to when we were closed.

Coping with Covid-19

Covid came as a unique challenge to Tullyglass. As Odhran explains we didn’t just sit around waiting we saw it as an opportunity.

“Our employees rose to the challenge and together we worked through every process and every step in the journey to come up with new and improved ways of how we deliver our services without compromising and customer satisfaction.”

Clock Tower Ballroom Refurbishment

We started with the aesthetics of the hotel, investing £1.5m into the refurbishment of Clock Tower Ballroom. This refurbishment was carried out from 2020 through to 2021, we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. This area of the hotel hosts weddings, conferences, galas and other events. It can now fit up to 800 guests and also has a built- in partition to accommodate more intimate events as well.

Tullyglass House Hotel & Residences is renowned for its weddings in NI. Naturally, it was fitting to invest money in one of the most beautiful location for weddings. Our wedding team would be honoured to show off our new refurbishment to any couples who wish to spend their special day on our newly renovated facilities.

Investing in our staff

“At Tullyglass we are always looking to the future” – Odhran McLarnon

A hotel is nothing without its hardworking and loyal staff, and Tullyglass knows this all too well. Not only did we invest in the Tullyglass Hotel building we also invested in the staff that make Tullyglass the hotel it is. Are staff took part in training that was both a refresh and new training, for example, cocktail training. 50 new jobs were in the Northern Ireland hospitality industry with Tullyglass recruiting 50 new staff to join our wonderful team.
